The Truth

 The “Truth” seems to be in many circles the most elusive and misrepresented term of our day, and I think we are seeing the unrest that, that has caused our country as well as society the world over. Yet the Bible tells us that the “Truth” will set us free – free to live beyond our human limitations – free to live the life we were created to.

In John’s gospel the 14th chapter a conversation is recorded for us in which Jesus himself states “I am the way the truth and the life no one can come to the Father (go to Heaven) except through Me.” In the 16th chapter, He goes on to say “I tell you the truth it is good that I go away for if I do then the Comforter will come and He will guide and teach you the truth. Here Jesus speaks of the very Spirit of God the Bible defines Him as the “Spirit of Truth” – He is presently calling all of mankind to come and know the Truth.

In Mathew’s gospel the 11th chapter; we hear Jesus calling people to “come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.” The Truth is we are in need of forgiveness of our sinful lives and redemption for our souls –Jesus came to testify of that “Truth” –it is the truth that can set you free from yourself and the wickedness of your sin. –come to the truth and let Him set you free from that burden and bring you into the wonder of His Truth.
